“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Joe a number of times in the last 4 years, both on and off the field, and can genuinely say it’s been a pleasure.
His ability and capacity to get the best out of players is second to none but it’s his considerate nature about the player as a human first that helped build a strong, professional relationship.
I would highly recommend Joe as a coach and/or mentor to anybody who is seeking to better their game, be challenged and above all have a great time doing it.
I look forward to hearing about all the success Joe has in his coaching career as I know he will do some wonderful things”

Had the pleasure of working with Joe for a couple of years on the Yorkshire Pathway programme. An enthusiastic coach who brings out confidence in all the players he works with, often resulting in success both individually and on a team level!

As a teacher, the girls remember the teachers who treat everyone the same, challenge them to go further, fundamentally believe in them, make learning joyful and respect them as individuals. You have all those qualities in abundance.

Joe is a highly motivated coach who is highly regarded by many clubs in East Yorkshire for his passion to the game and his motivation towards developing players and clubs. Joe flourishes from any challenge that is set by a player or clubs and aims to achieve this to a quality standard. His skills are some of the best and clear to see in his previous work, not only a great coach but fantastic mentor in helping coaches and players to achieve their goal.

You have instilled in the girls, but mostly I see Poppy, the gradual change over the season and into this autumn how she has been affected and infected by your skills as a motivator, goal searcher, thinker. You have made something click very deeply and it's changed her for her future self - not just cricket, this spills into many areas and is taking shape, for which we are deeply grateful for last season and the batting sessions.
We wish you all the very best, you deserve a rewarding next stage in your life.

'I have known Joe for over 15 years, first meeting him on the school cricket pitch of opposite schools where he was a keen and quality cricketer. Joe always played hard but fair and was always helping his team mates with constructive words. This has clearly been Joes philosophy as he has taken that into his coaching career. I have had the privilege to coach with Joe and his attention to detail is second to none. He is very adaptable and has vast experience in coaching and leading various groups and individuals. No matter what session, he always shows fantastic enthusiasm and high energy levels.'

We have had the pleasure of knowing Joe for the last 6 years, firstly from his Chance to Shine work in schools in York, then moving on through County Age Group cricket. Firstly, he is a genuinely good bloke, he genuinely cares about the players he works with, and his manner is such that he makes every aspect of his interaction from a coaching perspective ‘fun’. Secondly, he is very knowledgeable in his field, and has a great eye for detail in terms of his coaching skill set. Despite me playing for many years, it was Joe’s enthusiasm,  love for the game and for what he does that inspired my daughter to take up the game seriously to the point where she has played through county age groups, played for the county womens 2s, playing senior men’s cricket along the way since she was 12. Not only that she has had many experiences that not many get, through the Chance to Shine programme all because of Joe. I would recommend Joe to anyone interested in developing themselves as a cricketer, safe in the knowledge that you will be working with someone who genuinely wants to make a difference.
